ICA welcomes BCCI's decision to double former cricketers' pensions

The Indian Cricketers Association (ICA) on Tuesday communicated their "enormous appreciation" towards BCCI for expanding the benefits of previous Test and five star cricketers alongside resigned umpires.


BCCI has multiplied the annuity of previous five star and Test cricketers with those acquiring Rs 15,000 going up to Rs 30,000 and those with Rs 37,500 being moved up to Rs 60,000 section. The individuals who got Rs 50,000 from here onward will get Rs 70,000.


"The declaration by the BCCI yesterday has been very generally welcomed by our individuals, a considerable lot of whom have benefitted with this move in these long stretches of rising costs and falling interest pay, all of which has turned into an overall peculiarity," ICA expressed in a media discharge.


"I'm more than appreciative that the BCCI has acknowledged and set in motion this well established demand from us. I might want to particularly say thanks to Mr Jay Shah, the BCCI Honorary Secretary for his endeavors," said ICA president Ashok Malhotra.
